Key Scam Red Flags: The "Friend Link" Stock Fraud

When a random person from a group sends you a link to invest in stocks, it is often a "Pig-Butchering" or social engineering scam. Watch out for these critical red flags:

Unsolicited Investment Advice: A friend, acquaintance, or "wrong number" contact suddenly starts bragging about massive, unrealistic stock profits.

Private Registration Links: You are told to register and log in via a specific, private link sent through SMS, Whatsapp or social media.

Sideloaded App Downloads: The link bypasses the official Apple App Store or Google Play Store, forcing you to download an unverified installation profile or Android APK file.

Guaranteed High Returns: The platform promises zero-risk investments or insider information that guarantees profits.

Unusual Payment Methods: The platform requires you to fund your account using cryptocurrency, wire transfers to random individuals, or cash deposits.

The "Middleman" Trap: The contact insists on managing all deposits and account setups for you. This hands-on "help" is designed to isolate you and prevent you from contacting legitimate, official customer support.

Secrecy and Urgency: The contact pressures you to invest immediately and demands that you keep the opportunity a secret from your family.

Upfront Fees to Withdraw: The platform demands that you pay upfront taxes, legal fees or "security deposits" before you can withdraw funds.
